inventionsNo matter what kind of field you operate in invention, innovations and creativity are the keys to advancement. By this I mean both physical and psychological invention. Inventions are always perceived as being physical. The microchip was a great invention. The atom bomb was a world shattering invention. The swizzle stick is still important to someone. But it's important to remember that many Inventions are purely mental processes. The new office waste system and the new filing structure are as much Inventions as the physical Inventions above. Innovative Inventions have shaped our world.

INVENTION IS IN OUR NATURE. But, just because we have always done it doesn't mean that it gets easier. Quite the reverse. As more Inventions are released, more Inventions are patented, then the search for new, innovative Inventions becomes harder. Does this make sense to you?

If you answered YES to that question, it's unlikely you'll make the next world shattering invention. Sorry, but invention takes more that that. BUT YOU CAN STILL LEARN HOW. At the moment your thinking is too linear. You need to look at the way you think. If you think from A to B looking for the links, you'll struggle to make Inventions. You need to 'think out of the box'.

The following should help you to develop that invention-minded attitude and approach to making Inventions.

Suggestions to improve innovation:

Invention tip 1: Push yourself. Expand your invention horizons. If you struggle to think quickly or struggle to thinkof creative, innovative ideas probably you're only using a small part of your potential. Magical Concentration by Ed Strachar could be the key to a new approach to creative thinking. You'll learn how to get from A to D without passing through B and C.

Invention tip 2: Focus on the problem or issue you're looking at. Don't rehash other people's solutions. Try not to even look at others Inventions and innovations. Build your own invention, not someone else's.

Invention tip 3: Make sure that you know what has already been done in a specific field. Read widely, read more and read faster. Speed reading packages are out there,. One of the best is Reading Genius. Its a very innovative approach and worth checking out.

No matter whether you work with nuclear physics, engineering, printing or teaching, innovation and new invention is important. The world would be a very static place without invention and innovation. Remember;

INNOVATE - DON'T IMITATE!
